Subsequent to having education from Patna University IIT (Kharagpur) Jawaharlal Nehru University , served University of Rajasthan ,Jaipur ; Suresh GyanVihar University andManipal University Jaipur as Professor & Head , Director and Dean . Created and developed Department of Geology , Centre for Human Ecology, Environmental Science and Population Studies; and Centre for Water Management &Research at University of Rajasthan Jaipur. Served as an Expert on various State National and International Committees. Organized a number of National and International Conferences ,Seminar , Training program and workshops and accomplished many R& D and Consulatncy projects awarded by national and international agencies. More than two dozen scholars obtained doctorate degree under his supervision. He published more than 80 research papers in national and international journal andvisited more than 30 countries to deliver invited lectures. Decorated with number of awards and honors and recognition, he was made President ( 2013-2014) of Earth System Science Section , Indian Science Congress Besides his contribution towards institution buildings, His major academic & scientific contribution has been in domain of Environmental Geology and Hydrogeology with emphasis on Sustainability of Mineral and Water Resources. Integrated scientific approach involving geophysical ,geochemical ,Remote sensing and GIS tool and techniques were used to pursue the research objectives. Hydrogeological and Hydrochemical framework of the various ephemeral and palaeo river basins such as Kantli , Bandi , Morel , Dhund, Gambhir , Mendha,Luni and Sabarmati falling within the Rajasthan and Gujarat were developed which helped in understanding the aquifer disposition , groundwater potential zone, rechargeable aquifer, subsurface storage capacity of the aquifer and saline as well as freshwater interface in the above basins and their applicability towards adaptation to Climate change scenario in water sector. He has been one of the few identified to work on the hydrology of the Mars.
